India Carney is a singer, songwriter, actress, arranger, voice teacher and director from Brooklyn, New York. She is a graduate of LaGuardia Arts High School (The “FAME” School) in New York City, Manhattan School of Music’s Precollege Division, and is currently majoring in Voice Performance at UCLA. India is a versatile performer equally singing pop, jazz, blues, opera, gospel, and musical theater. She was a 2011 U.S. Presidential Scholar in the Arts, YoungArts™ (NFAA) Silver Winner in Voice, and Benjamin Steigman Principal’s Award for artistic and academic excellence. She is also the current music director of the award-winning a cappella group, the UCLA ScatterTones. India has had the honor and privilege of performing at the Concert Hall of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Carnegie Hall, Avery Fischer Hall, Miami’s Gusman Theater, Los Angeles’ 26th Annual JazzReggae Festival, UCLA’s Pauley Pavilion and The Rose Bowl. India is so excited and honored to be performing at this year’s Harlem Arts Festival!
